This case study looks at the issues the Tohono O’Odham nation faces by the international U.S.-Mexico border which divides their ancestral lands and their communities. According to the case study, the division of the Tohono O’Odham’s lands by the international border violates the Gadsden Purchase (1853), the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1948) and several international human rights norms.
